We are pleased to announce that Dr Malcolm Borg has joined us at Signal Health Tusmore.
Dr Malcolm Borg provides up-to-date patient-focused specialist care in adult endocrinology. Dr Borg completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide, and specialist training at the Royal Adelaide, Queen Elizabeth, Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals. He has significant clinical experience in the management of diabetes, with or without advanced diabetes technology, osteoporosis, obesity and pathologies of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands, and gender-affirming care.
Dr Borg has published guidelines for the management of low blood calcium in the Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals. He is an active researcher regarding the relationships between gastrointestinal symptoms and blood glucose levels in type 1 diabetes. Dr Borg has published widely regarding the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes mellitus and postprandial hypotension. He is completing his PhD regarding the metabolic effects of non-sugar sweeteners in health and diabetes mellitus. He maintains a passion for education as a Clinical Associate Lecturer with Adelaide University.
Dr Borg was the recipient of the Australian Diabetes Congress Clinical Presentation Award in memory of Dr Paul Lee, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Intern Award for Excellence in Medicine. He was the SA-selected finalist at the Australian Diabetes Society Quality in Diabetes Care meeting and Endocrine Society of Australia Clinical Weekend. Dr Borg is a member of the Australian Diabetes Society, Endocrine Society of Australia, Adelaide Clinical Endocrine Society and European Association for the Study of Diabetes.
