Medicare Rebates Now Available
Women experiencing perimenopause, menopause, early menopause, or premature ovarian insufficiency can now access a Medicare rebate to help cover part of the cost of a dedicated health assessment.
Why Consider a Health Assessment?
Menopause and perimenopause affect more than just reproductive health. Many women experience symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, sleep difficulties, weight changes, and problems with memory or concentration.
This stage of life can also be linked with longer-term health considerations, including an increased risk of osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic changes.
A structured health assessment provides the opportunity to:
Understand your symptoms and how they are affecting your daily life
Discuss treatment and management options, both medical and lifestyle-based
Review your overall health and identify risks that can be reduced with early action
Put in place a personalised plan to support your long-term wellbeing
What’s Involved in the Appointment?
During your consultation, your general practitioner will:
Take time to discuss your symptoms and any concerns
Review your medical history and overall health
Organise tests or specialist referrals if required
Provide advice on management options, including non-medication strategies
Develop a personalised care plan tailored to your needs
Offer preventative health advice where appropriate
